CKP culinary students, staff, and amazing volunteers will be serving up fried fish every Friday during Lent PLUS Good Friday!

When? Fridays | 2/20 - 4/3 | 11am-7pm
Where? 107 Flowers Avenue in Hazelwood. Right on the corner of Flowers and Second Avenues.
Dine in or take out.

WHAT'S ON THE MENU?
Hand-battered Haddock fish sandwiches and “fish on a dish”

Cheddar Pierogies

Desserts will be Tres Leches Cake and a Strawberry Pretzel dessert.

Fish Fry Food Truck Palooza | Food Truck Appearance

Looking for something kid-friendly to do this Friday AND want to make sure to get your FISH FRY on?

The CKPghFoodTruck will be at Velum Fermentation this Friday from 5-7pm for the SouthSide Kids FISH FRY FOOD TRUCK PALOOZA!

The truck will have:
Fried Fish Sandwiches (or just the fish)
Housemade coleslaw
Housemade mac 'n cheese

Finish it off with something sweet from south side’s very own Vital Sips and ice cream from churn. 

Inside, children and families will enjoy kids’ crafts and games, a full arcade, face painting, balloons and more while their parents are welcome to check out Velum’s selection of craft beers and cocktails!

Proceeds from South Side Kids dine-to-donate program directly support South Side Kids’ mission to foster family life across Pittsburgh, creating a community where children and families can flourish. South Side Kids organizes free events and programming throughout the year, creating a bridge between families and local resources.

NFB x CKP "From Chef Missy, With Love" Collaboration Launch Party

We’ve partnered up with our friends at New France Brewing Company to create our first beer collaboration!

Named “From Chef Missy, With Love”, this collab is inspired by Chef Missy’s sweet potato pie — representing the love that Chef Missy puts into everything that she creates — making it a fabulous beer for the holidays.

As part of New France Brewing’s campaign to give back to the community, they’re donating a portion of every draft and 4-pack sold of this collaboration at the brewery, as well as a portion of all kegs and cases sold wholesale.

On Saturday, November 8th, we’re heading down the street to New France to celebrate the official launch of this special brew!

On Hallow's Eve Eve 2025, join us as we spotlight our incredible Catering Chefs Team and students -- taking your eyes and tastebuds on an experience.

Celebrate the spooky season with us on this "Wickedly Delicious" evening.

In the spirit of the evening, you're encouraged to dress up for this occasion. However, full face masks/coverings will not be permitted.

Soldiers & Sailors "The Silence Of The Lambs" Cage Night | Food Truck Appearance

The Community Kitchen Food Truck (#CKPghFoodTruck) will be appearing again at this year’s Soldiers & Sailors “The Silence of the Lambs” Cage Night to celebrate this cinematic classic horror.

Along with vendors and scary items, you’ll find a life-sized replica of Hannibal’s cage.

There will also be a screening of the film with a “wrap party” afterwards.

The CKPgh Food Truck team will be there serving up a deliciously-themed menu.

CKP Friend, Chef Desarae (aka, Cooking, Comedy, and Chaos) is going into battle — a BURGER BATTLE — against Chef Josh from YoungYinz on Sunday, September 28th!

It’s the “Mon-Valley Yinzerlicious Burger Battle”! And if Desarae is crowned the victor, not only will she win bragging rights, but she’ll win CKP the $400 DONATION PRIZE!

Each $50 (+fees) ticket gets you TWO gourmet burgers, two appetizers, two desserts, Turner’s iced tea and tickets for voting for your favorite menu items! (yes, you and a friend may share a ticket and you’ll each have the opportunity to cast your votes)

• Jenny’s Burger – Thick sliced Jenny Lee Swirl Bread dunked in French toast custard and grilled to perfection with two all-beef sweetburger patties, creamy American cheese, bacon, dippy egg, and a maple cayenne drizzle.

• Bourbon Peach Smash Burger – Juicy smash burger topped with Bourbon Peach BBQ sauce,smoked gouda cheese, and a pickled jalapeños, and red onion slaw, served on a bourbon butter toasted bun.

Tastings are BLIND — you won’t know which chef created which dish until the winner is announced at 8PM!

Food Is Community | A Pepin 90/90 & Catalyst Kitchens National Network Celebration

Join us for an unforgettable evening where food brings us together, community lifts us up, and culinary excellence takes center stage.

Featuring six extraordinary chefs from Pittsburgh and beyond, this special event will showcase locally-sourced ingredients, regional producers, and the power of food to connect, transform, and inspire.

All proceeds benefit Community Kitchen Pittsburgh, a nonprofit that helps individuals overcome barriers to employment and obtain quality employment in the culinary industry through training and job placement support. The event also supports Catalyst Kitchens, a national network of transformative culinary training programs.

We are honored to be joined by the Jacques Pépin Foundation in celebrating the legendary Chef Jacques’s 90th Birthday, as part of the Official Nationwide 90/90 Dinner Series.

This is more than a gala — it’s a tribute to the chefs who inspire us, the communities that support us, and the belief that FOOD IS COMMUNITY.
