CBS Pittsburgh’s “Talk Pittsburgh” | A story of resilience on Yinz Are Good podcast
CKP Chef Instructor, Missy Terrell, appeared on KDKA’s “Talk Pittsburgh” alongside Tressa Glover from the “Yinz Are Good” podcast, which she also appeared on the week before.
During this segment, Chef shared her story of how her love and determination for her youngest son, Tug, get her to where she is now and where she strives to be. And see that pie? That would be Chef Missy’s Sweet Potato Pie. The same pie that inspired our beer collaboration with New France Brewing. The same pie that is also available on our Holiday Catering Menu, by the way.
Hit “play” and see why Chef Missy is a shining example of how our Culinary Jobs Training program can be an incredible tool for someone to reach incredible goals when they do the work.
We do what we do at CKP to help individuals like Chef Missy. Our supporters make success stories like hers possible. We hope that someone will hear her story, maybe see a little of themselves in her, and choose to take a chance at bettering their life and come to our program.
If you’d also like to listen to her podcast episode, you can find it on most podcast platforms. Since I (Pam, Social Media & Marketing Mgr) have an iPhone, click here to listen on Apple Podcasts.
The segment was recorded in the morning and aired that afternoon during the 3pm show. Before Chef’s segment aired, a laptop was brought down to the kitchen so Chef and some students could watch. What you’re seeing below are some moments caught during the segment. The students were as excited as Chef Missy was. :-)
